Amazing Italian food in the west village! They don't accept reservations at this location so make sure to arrive early or to wait. I went on a Monday evening at 6:15pm (they open at 5:30p) and we didn't have to wait and were seated outside. The food came out very quickly and we devoured it instantly since it was so good. We were in and out in an hour so the turn over is quick. The inside is very small so not a lot of seating there, but it's perfect to enjoy a nice glass of wine and pasta on a nice day out. The pasta was so fresh and the sauce was so creamy and I would definitely reorder the truffle pasta.
Highly recommend visiting this restaurant for authentic Italian food and fresh pasta. I have been to plenty of restaurants in the city but this spot really blew me away. The pasta was so fresh, and from the moment we arrived we received great service. The dining experience was pretty fast, as it is a small restaurant and they don't take reservations so I assume they try to turn tables quickly but that didn't affect the restaurant quality of service and food. They offer only a small selection of house wines, but you have the option of getting different size portions whether you want a 1/2 glass, 1/2 bottle, 1/4 bottle etc. We started with the prosciutto which was so fresh it tasted like I was in Italy eating it. We ordered the Cacio e Pepe and the Truffle pasta and both were delicious. The pasta is homemade in the front of the restaurant and you can watch it being made when you walk in. I will definitely be back to try the bolognese which was another recommendation from our waiter but we didn't have the chance to try it this time around!
Highlights: the Prosciutto is absolutely divine. Coming in as an appetizer for $19, it is well worth every dollar of it. This appetizer is the type you can split between 4 people comfortably, so I would say order one. They give you bread and olive oil to dip into and you place the prosciutto on top. This is no Trader Joe's prosciutto the taste is divine. The pastas are so enjoyable in taste. We got a pasta with duck and it was just chef's kiss perfection. The ingredients are very fresh and I am salivating thinking about the pesto pasta. There is a freshness that you can simply taste. Ambiance wise, I would describe it as a very intimate restaurant with small tables. The hosts are all very cool and can give you good recommendations. Lowlights: the tiramisu you can pass on. Pricing is high, and you will not walk away with leftovers with each pasta dish coming in at around $20. Well worth a try though
We visited Fiaschetteria Pistoia around 8 pm on a Thursday and were seated outside right away. The tables outside are definitely super cramped to the point where it seemed extremely inconvenient for the servers to get around, but we were just thankful that there was no line to be seated. The pasta is super delicious and fresh, but for the price the portion felt a bit small. Enjoyed the burrata for an appetizer. Tiramisu was very solid, and we enjoyed the house red wine. Overall would return
loved the cacio e pepe and tagliatelle al pesto di basilico. ask for the balsamic vinegar when they bring you the bread. went as walk-ins on a monday at 8pm and waited about 10 min before getting seated outdoors. super cozy tables - basically touching elbows with the people next to us. pretty pricy for small portions, so while it was delicious, would only come again if I wasn't super hungry because we left wishing we could get another main without spending $$$$.
Stopped by on a busy Saturday night and arrived at 7pm and waited about 30 mins for a table. There is a long line. However they have seats indoor and also outdoor. The outdoor was quicker seating however we opted for indoor so we waited longer. The restaurant indoor is extremely small, about 12 seats. All of the tables are nestled together literally on top of each other. I did not mind. When walking in you pass through the kitchen, where they were making fresh pasta and sauces. Already you can smell the freshness of the dishes. We ordered for apps the pig cheeks and the burrata. I loved the burrata however could've passed on the pig cheeks. They were just like prosciutto but only the fatty part. Not my cup of tea at all. For entrees, we ordered the truffle pasta and the ragu while I enjoyed the homemade pasta both of the sauces were so thick and the ragu was rather salty. We also ordered desserts, the tiramisu and the shortcake. Overall the service was excellent, love homemade pasta however some of the sauces were just so thick, it was so overwhelming. I would love to just get their homemade pasta and make my own sauce.
Heaven on a plate. We were seeking homemade pasta and we found the spot. Ambiance is on point. We sat outside which gave us a bit more space than inside. Watch the pasta makers prepare your pasta to order. Wine list is a carrier of bottles. We ordered 4 appetizers and loved every one except for the piggy. Pasta dishes were incredible and the flavors were perfect. Favorite dessert was the chocolate cream puffs and the cream with the delicate cookies. Can't wait to come back. Now one of my favorite Manhattan Italian places.
This place hands down is my fave pasta spot, in the WORLD. Loved everything here and was pleasantly surprised I went back 3 days later haha. Super cozy inside, with outdoor shack seating. Pasta made fresh by hand through the window, fast, attentive servers. And my fave part, no resy required and worth the short wait in line. The pappardelle is legendary! Light on sauce, chewy pasta, beefy. And the truffle pasta just as good. Creamy, cheesy truffly. Loved it!
Nice albeit small space for a walk-in pasta date (no reservations, expect to wait). My friend and I waited in line on a Friday night, a little before 8pm. We waited in line for about 20 minutes, we were perhaps fourth or fifth in line when the host came down the line and accepted us in since we were just a small party of two. (There's also a bar next door that allows you to grab some drinks to wait in line, so that's a plus). I can't imagine coming in with a group bigger than 4, it may prove to be difficult to get a seat and overall, the tables are pretty cramped together (the outside seating area especially - expect to be side by side with other guests, almost elbow to elbow). I recommend getting the Tagliatelle Tartufo Nero and tiramisu for dessert, best dishes we tried for the night. Overall, a cute small shop for a walk-in for very good pasta made the night of.
Some of the finest pasta made fresh right in the heart of West Village! There was a bit of a wait (30-40 minutes) but it was also a weekend evening. This location does not take reservations so keep that in mind if planning ahead. The tables are very close together and the space is not that huge, but the vibes are warm and great. The star of the show was by far the tagliatelle tartufo nero. This was the best truffle pasta I've ever had in my life (granted I haven't been to Italy). Black truffle is grated on top and the pasta basically melts in your mouth. The perfect blend of creaminess and truffle flavor without it being overwhelming. The second best item was the Maccheroni Sull' Anatra (duck ragu). The slices of pasta were so delicate and thin. The slowly cooked duck was perfection, but I wish there was more of it. It was a solid pasta, but not as life changing as the truffle pasta. Lastly, the lamb ragu was similar to the duck, but slightly less of a flavor bomb. Still very good, just not the best. Definitely on the expensive side for dining with smaller portions than you would expect in America for a pasta dish. The service was quick, welcoming, and very italian:) Would come back solely for the truffle pasta!
